the new name in Northland construction

Northland construction industry legend Hill Construction has kickstarted the new decade with a new name and a new premise, in a fantastic new location.

Now known as HILLCON Group, the company encompasses Coresteel Buildings Northland, Hill Construction and HILLCON Structures.

“We’re proud to be one of Northland’s largest commercial and industrial construction groups, and after 30 years working within the community, we felt it was time our brand reflected our growing business,” says Joel Taylor, Director, HILLCON Group.

The new offices are located at 121 Port Road in Whangarei and were built by HILLCON Group themselves, using an innovative Coresteel Buildings steel frame solution.

“Co-director James Senescall and I are really excited to showcase the new brand and building, but we also want our customers to know that aside from a facelift, the bones of the company are still very much the same. It’s business as usual,” says Joel.

Hill Construction has become a household name in Northland, with a history stretching back to 1983 and fronted by iconic builds such as the Whangarei Cricket Pavilion, Oceans Resort Tutukaka and Mark Cromie Motor Group. A new multi-storey office complex is currently underway on Bank Street in Whangarei.

Coresteel Buildings is Northland’s solution for commercial and industrial steel building construction. The innovative steel building technology has allowed for impressive local builds for companies including PlaceMakers, Kamo Vets, Te Ora Hou, Pirtek, Fonterra, Ballance, Dive Tutukaka, and Donovan Tradezone.

“We’re currently finishing up the biggest Coresteel Buildings structure ever to be built in New Zealand for client Hermpac. With a floor area in excess of 12,000sqm, this building really showcases the outstanding capabilities of the Coresteel technology.”

Earlier this month Coresteel Buildings Northland was awarded Franchise of the Year and a Marketing Excellence award at the national Coresteel Buildings conference.

HILLCON Structures is a new venture for HILLCON Group and will be the face of the company’s multi-storey building division.
